Overview

Healthcare security goes beyond routine monitoring—it is about providing compassionate support, clear de-escalation, and a safe environment for healthcare staff, patients, and visitors during critical moments. In this role, you will serve as a calm, helpful presence in a dynamic hospital environment, balancing public safety with empathetic customer service.

This is a full-time position working a structured 7-on, 7-off rotation (alternating between one week of day shifts, one week off, followed by one week of night shifts, and one week off). This schedule offers predictability while giving you extended time off between rotation blocks.

What Success Looks Like

Day-to-day, success means staying proactive, alert, and accessible. You will move through healthcare spaces, addressing safety concerns before they escalate and supporting medical personnel whenever assistance is needed.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing access control for facility entrances, restricted areas, and sensitive units.

  • Conducting regular patrols to identify physical safety hazards, unsecured doors, and potential security risks.

  • Responding rapidly to alarm notifications, emergency calls, and situations requiring physical or verbal intervention.

  • De-escalating tense, emotional, or high-stress situations using strong communication skills.

  • Assisting with patient safety monitoring and writing clear, detailed incident reports.

  • Monitoring facility cameras and property to maintain overall situational awareness.

Over time, successful team members build strong working relationships with medical staff, demonstrate sound judgment under pressure, and contribute to a safer, more welcoming environment for everyone in the facility.
