Job Description
We are hiring a Budtender for a licensed cannabis retail dispensary in Newark, New Jersey. The Budtender will assist adult-use customers, explain product categories, maintain a clean sales floor, support point-of-sale transactions, and follow all state cannabis compliance procedures.
The selected candidate must be comfortable working in a highly regulated cannabis environment and following all store policies related to ID verification, product handling, inventory control, and customer education.
Responsibilities
Greet customers and verify valid government-issued identification.
Explain cannabis products, including flower, pre-rolls, edibles, tinctures, and concentrates.
Maintain accurate product knowledge and follow dispensary sales procedures.
Support inventory counts and product restocking.
Follow New Jersey cannabis compliance requirements.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism with customers.
Requirements
Prior cannabis retail, customer service, or regulated retail experience preferred.
Must be eligible to work in a New Jersey cannabis business.
Must be willing to complete all onboarding requirements required by the licensed cannabis business.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail.
Badge / License Language
The selected employee may be required to obtain a New Jersey Cannabis Business Identification Card / Employee ID Card through the licensed cannabis business during onboarding.
