Location: Chicago, IL (O’Hare Airport)
Schedule: 24/7 Operation — must be available to work weekends and holidays
Pay Rate: $19.10 – $25.00/hour
Employment Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire, Long Term
Shifts Available: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Shift (shift schedules subject to change)
Pay Frequency: Weekly

Overview

Staff Management | SMX is immediately hiring Airport Warehouse Agents (Cargo) to support our premier airline client at O’Hare Airport. This role requires multitasking in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict deadlines and customer requirements. Schedule

1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM

Shift schedules are subject to change. Associates must be available to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

As an Airport Warehouse Agent (Cargo), you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring, arranging, and controlling airline special shipments and freight activities to O’Hare Airport while ensuring all regulations are followed

  • Building and breaking down freight for shipment

  • Reading airway bill destinations to route freight correctly

  • Weighing and dimming freight

  • Operating a forklift and assisting with cargo movement

  • Breaking down cargo loads and building up cargo loads

  • Supporting warehouse and cargo operations in a deadline-driven environment

Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs

  • Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift

  • Must take a drug test

  • Must take a background check

  • Must take ICE background check

  • Must complete Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) check and fingerprinting

  • Must show proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License or State ID

  • Must have reliable transportation (most shifts are not bus accessible)

  • Must follow all attendance policies for the duration of employment

  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays (required)
