Position Overview

Join our logistics team in New Albany, Indiana, as an Automotive Shipping Team Member. In this full-time, temp-to-hire role, you will play a crucial part in keeping a premier Tier 1 automotive supplier's supply chain running smoothly. If you enjoy active, hands-on work where your efforts directly impact production, this long-term position offers a stable path to a permanent career.

What You Will Do

Your main responsibility will be moving parts, preparing orders, and ensuring materials are organized and ready for transport. Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Operating a tugger to transport containers, skids, and pallets safely to production and staging areas.
  • Performing basic weekly maintenance on tuggers, such as changing batteries approximately once a week.
  • Packing parts into customer orders, scanning barcodes, and applying shipping labels.
  • Stacking containers onto skids, preparing them for wrapping, and pushing them onto roller wrappers.
  • Using computer systems and handheld scanners to count boxes, verify orders, and transmit load data.
  • Sorting incoming customer packaging, removing debris and old labels from totes, and stacking empty pallets for forklift removal.
  • Staging materials in correct lanes according to order numbers, routes, or sequence schedules.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, success is measured by accuracy, safety, and reliability. Day-to-day, you will keep the staging areas organized and ensure that orders are packed and labeled without errors. You will need to rely on your memory and attention to detail to keep up with the steady flow of parts and materials.

Over time, you will become a key asset to the logistics team by mastering the facility layout and sequence schedules. Your consistent attendance and strong work ethic will pave the way for your transition into a direct-hire position with the manufacturer.

What You Bring

Must-Haves:

  • The physical ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Comfort with physical activity throughout a full shift, including walking, standing, bending, reaching, stooping, and riding tugger equipment.
  • Basic computer and scanner literacy to verify and track shipments.
  • Strong visual focus, including depth perception and color vision, to safely navigate the facility and identify components.
  • A reliable work ethic and a memory-oriented mindset to help you navigate a structured, process-driven workflow.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Six months to one year of experience operating a forklift or other industrial material handling equipment.
