Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Conduct routine security patrols of hospital grounds, including hallways, patient care areas, entrances, and parking lots.
Monitor security cameras and alarm systems to identify potential safety hazards or unauthorized access.
De-escalate challenging or emotional situations calmly using strong verbal communication skills.
Assist visitors and patients with directions and general hospital information.
Respond quickly to security calls, medical emergencies, and facility alarms alongside hospital staff.
Write clear, accurate daily activity logs and incident reports before the end of your shift.
Enforce facility safety protocols in a polite, professional manner.
Long-Term Impact
Over time, you will build strong working relationships with hospital personnel, gain valuable experience in healthcare safety, and contribute directly to a safer healthcare environment in Corner Brook.
Pay and Benefits
Pay Rate: $19.67 per hour (overtime rate applies after 48 hours).
Flexible Pay: Access to daily pay options to get paid earned wages faster.
Paid Certification: If you do not already hold Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certifications, Paladin covers the full cost of required prerequisite training with a six-month availability commitment.

Requirements
Must-Haves
Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
Current First Aid and CPR Level C certification (CSA-approved).
Fluent in written and spoken English, with strong communication skills.
Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
Completed Tuberculosis (TB) screening.
Proof of primary childhood immunizations and a adult Tdap dose (with a booster within the last 10 years).
Current UOF and MOAB certifications, or ability to successfully complete the prerequisite training program prior to onboarding.
Availability to work casual, as-needed shifts, including 12-hour day and night rotations.
Nice-to-Haves
Previous experience in security, customer service, law enforcement, or healthcare environments.
Work Environment & Schedule
This is a casual, as-needed role based at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL. Operations run 24/7, with shifts typically scheduled in 12-hour day and night rotations. Shift assignments depend on hospital coverage requirements and operational needs.
