Forklift Operator

Overview

As a Forklift Operator at Flex-N-Gate, you are the engine that keeps our production floor moving. This role is essential for maintaining a steady workflow, ensuring that our press operators have the materials they need precisely when they need them. What You Will Do

Success in this role means keeping our facility organized and safe while ensuring material flow stays ahead of production needs. Your daily routine will involve:

• Transporting empty packaging to operators and relocating finished product to designated indoor and outdoor storage areas.

• Assisting press operators with packaging needs to maintain production efficiency.

• Performing thorough pre-shift equipment checks and swapping out propane cylinders as required.

• Operating forklifts safely in a high-traffic environment, often requiring driving in reverse and navigating tight spaces.

• Maintaining a clean, hazard-free workspace that adheres to all safety and environmental protocols.

Requirements

• Experience: 3-4 years of professional experience operating both stand-up and sit-down forklifts.

• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs, frequently climb in and out of the forklift, and maneuver safely across indoor and outdoor surfaces in varying weather conditions.

• Physical Dexterity: Full range of motion in your neck and spine to safely look behind you while driving in reverse for at least 50% of your shift.

• Safety Commitment: A proven track record of safe driving and the ability to obtain and maintain a forklift license issued by Flex-N-Gate within 30 days of hire.

• Operational Skills: Proficiency in basic mathematics, the ability to read and follow written instructions, and strong attention to detail.

• Reliability: Consistent attendance and the flexibility to work overtime, including with little or no notice, to meet production deadlines.

Nice-to-Haves

• Previous experience working in a shipping or receiving department.

• Demonstrated ability to plan and organize inventory movements effectively.
