Overview

If you love working with your hands, solving problems, and helping homeowners protect and improve their homes, this role is built for you. As a Craftsman with Ace Handyman Services, you get to focus on what you do best: high-quality craftsmanship. We take care of the rest.

We handle all the marketing, schedule your jobs, manage the billing, and support you from the office so you do not have to spend your evenings chasing leads, writing estimates, or worrying about where your next paycheck is coming from. This is a stable, year-round, full-time W2 position where your skills are respected, your safety is prioritized, and your work-life balance is protected.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you will work independently on-site, serving as a trusted home improvement expert for our local customers.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Review your daily schedule through our mobile app and travel directly from your home to scheduled jobs.
  • Complete a variety of small-to-medium home repairs, maintenance tasks, and light remodeling projects (ranging from 2-hour tasks to multi-day projects).
  • Evaluate customer requests on-site, explain the process clearly, and provide accurate time and material estimates when needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, respecting the customer's home at all times.
  • Use your smartphone or tablet to document completed jobs, upload photos, and process payments.

Long-Term Success:

  • Build a strong reputation for reliability and quality, leading to repeat customer requests for your specific expertise.
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality finishes across multiple trades, maintaining our high brand standard for helpfulness and professionalism.

What We Look For

We need skilled professionals who take pride in their work and enjoy helping people. Here is what we require to get started:

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in home maintenance, remodeling, or general carpentry.
  • Solid, practical skills in at least three of the following areas: carpentry, drywall repair, painting, tiling, minor plumbing, and minor electrical work.
  • Your own reliable truck, van, or SUV suitable for hauling materials and tools.
  • Your own standard set of hand and power tools.
  • A valid driver's license and active auto insurance.
  • The ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, respectful presentation.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience working directly with customers in their homes.
  • Prior experience estimating time and material costs for residential jobs.
  • Specialized training or certifications in carpentry, plumbing, or electrical work.

What We Offer

We believe in treating our team members like the professionals they are. When you join us, you can expect:

  • W2 Employee Status: Regular, dependable pay with payroll taxes handled for you, rather than the unpredictability of 1099 subcontracting.
  • Office Support: Our dedicated dispatch team books your jobs, manages customer service, handles payment processing, and coordinates materials, letting you focus entirely on your craft.
  • Independence: You dispatch directly from your home to your first job of the day, working on your own without a manager hovering over your shoulder.
  • Consistent Year-Round Work: No seasonal layoffs or slow periods. We keep our schedule full so your paycheck remains steady.
  • A Respectful Work Environment: We value your expertise, respect your personal time, and encourage a healthy balance between work and home.
