At SMX, we build the interior components that define the vehicle experience, from dashboards and consoles to door trims. As a Production Operator, you are the backbone of our manufacturing process. This role is essential for ensuring that the parts inside the cars people drive every day are built safely, accurately, and on schedule. We provide hands-on training for all team members, making this an ideal opportunity if you enjoy physical, hands-on work and want to be part of a team that values consistency and safety.
What Success Looks Like
In this role, your primary goal is to maintain a steady, high-quality flow of production. You will be successful if you can operate our equipment effectively, catch quality issues before they move down the line, and work collaboratively with your team to hit daily targets.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Monitor injection molding and assembly machines, making minor adjustments to ensure parts are shaped and finished correctly.
- Material Handling: Load raw materials into machines and unload finished components, ensuring a smooth transition between production stages.
- Quality Assurance: Perform regular visual inspections and use simple measuring tools to verify that every part meets our precise size and aesthetic standards.
- Safety & Maintenance: Keep your workspace clean, clear of scrap, and organized. You will follow all established safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Team Collaboration: Rotate between different stations—such as molding, assembly, or painting—to support production flow and assist where help is needed most.
Growth Over Time
As you settle into the role, you will gain a deep understanding of our production systems. Success over the long term looks like becoming a versatile operator who can troubleshoot common machine issues, mentor new team members, and consistently contribute to our goal of zero-defect manufacturing.
