If you are empathetic, composure-driven, and looking for a meaningful healthcare security role where your communication and de-escalation skills make a direct difference every day, this is a strong opportunity to build your career with Paladin Security Group.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means being a trusted, reassuring presence on the unit. On a day-to-day basis, you will stay alert and approachable, identifying early signs of distress or conflict and step in with calm, respectful communication before situations escalate.

Over time, you will build strong collaborative relationships with clinical staff, demonstrate sound judgment during high-stress incidents, and consistently maintain high standards of safety, detailed reporting, and professional conduct.

Key Responsibilities

  • Unit Presence & Observation: Maintain a visible post on the acute mental health unit, monitoring the environment for escalating behavior, potential safety risks, or unauthorized movements.

  • Incident Response: Assist healthcare staff during critical situations involving aggression or dangerous behavior, including approved physical interventions when authorized by training and facility policy.

  • Access Control: Monitor unit entry points, assist authorized visitors, and enforce post orders regarding patient movements in coordination with medical staff.

  • Communication & Handover: Conduct thorough shift handovers with clinical staff, share safety-relevant information, check security equipment, and write clear, accurate incident reports.
