Ace Handyman Services Annapolis is seeking an experienced, well-rounded handyman for an approximately three-month, full-time W-2 assignment.
We need someone who can confidently enter a customer’s home, assess the work, explain the solution and independently manage varied repair and improvement projects from arrival through completion.
The position may lead to consideration for permanent employment based on business needs, performance and mutual fit, but continued employment is not guaranteed.
Key Responsibilities
Perform residential and light commercial repairs with skill and efficiency.
Independently assess projects, troubleshoot problems and determine appropriate solutions.
Clearly explain the scope of work and professionally manage customer expectations.
Deliver excellent workmanship and customer service.
Obtain required customer approvals and collect payment upon completion.
Document materials, photos, notes and job progress using company software and mobile apps.
Maintain organized tools, a clean vehicle and a professional appearance.
Leave every customer’s home cleaner and better than you found it.
Required Skills and Experience
Strong professional experience in residential repairs, remodeling, maintenance or related trades.
Proficiency across multiple areas, including:
Carpentry and trim
Drywall repair and finishing
Painting and finishing
Door and window repairs
Cabinet installation and adjustment
Flooring and tile repairs
Minor plumbing and electrical repairs within company scope
Deck, fence, siding and exterior repairs
General maintenance and punch-list projects
Able to work independently without constant direction.
Strong troubleshooting, judgment and problem-solving skills.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Comfortable working in occupied homes.
Comfortable using mobile apps, text, email and digital job-management tools.
Able to work safely on ladders and at heights.
Able to regularly lift and carry up to 75 pounds and perform work requiring climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching and prolonged standing.
Must pass a background check.
Vehicle and Tools Required
Candidates must have:
A valid driver’s license, safe driving record and appropriate automobile insurance.
A clean, reliable truck or van suitable for professional use at customer homes.
Their own standard hand and power tools needed for professional handyman work.
Compensation and Schedule
Starting pay: $30 per hour
Appointment-based service charges to help compensate for personal vehicle use
Additional service-charge compensation when assigned outside the normal service area
Full-time W-2 temporary employment
Monday through Friday schedule, generally 8am to 5pm
No weekends
Customers, scheduling and administrative support provided
Service Area
This position will primarily serve the greater Annapolis area, with some work in our Mid-Eastern Shore service area as business needs require.
We make every effort to group appointments geographically and minimize unnecessary travel between jobs. Candidates living elsewhere within our broader Maryland service area are welcome to apply if they can reliably reach scheduled Annapolis-area appointments.
