Requirements / Responsibilities
- Safely operate and drive commercial trucks over short and long distances
- Transport goods to various locations while adhering to all traffic and safety regulations
- Inspect vehicles before and after trips to ensure they are in good working condition
- Load and unload cargo in a safe and timely manner
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and paperwork
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and management to coordinate deliveries and schedules
- Adhere to company policies and regulatory compliance requirements such as DOT regulations
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a truck driver or similar role
- Strong knowledge of transportation laws and safety protocols
- Ability to handle physical aspects of the job including loading and unloading cargo
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Good communication skills and professionalism
- Ability to work independently and follow directions
Job Details / Duties
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify the condition of the vehicle
- Plan truck routes and meet delivery deadlines
- Secure cargo for transport according to safety standards
- Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service records as required by law
- Manage unforeseen circumstances such as delays or emergencies safely and efficiently
- Collaborate with team members and management to improve processes and customer satisfaction
